Some people learn to dance, some people are born to dance.
--> Because it's like breathing. It's like walking to me.
--> I’m not pretending. When I dance I don’t pretend.
--> I'm more of myself when I dance than any other moment of the day.
--> I dance to become someone else.
--> There are so many things in this world, in life that push down on you, but when you dance you are free.
--> We started dancing at the age of 7. In our house, in our living room. Just dancing, copying Michael Jackson
--> I’m just listening to the music in the grocery store, just dancing through the aisles. Friends say: contain yourself. Calm down. And I’m like: I can't stop. I have to do it. I have to do it.
--> After everybody went to sleep I would open the garage and just practice.
--> That’s’ pretty much when I knew that I loved it. Because I have never dedicated so much time and effort into something like that.
--> It’s not just jumping around. Dance has vocabulary
--> There’s a lot of gangs environment
--> I couldn't be stuck there all of my life.
--> My village was attacked
--> My parents didn't even want me around anymore
--> She actually kicked me out of the house.
--> I had to go
--> Dance saved me
--> Dance definitely saved me.
--> If it wasn't for dance, I don’t know what I would be doing right now.
--> I didn't have anything. I didn't have money. I was living with 15$ per week
--> The truth is, everybody is a dancer inside.
--> Everybody has a heart beat.
--> Our own rhythm inside...
--> Born from a boom box
--> It sounds stupid but, I do feel like that. And if you do listen hard enough, we realize that maybe we're all plugged in into the same song.
--> Many people (people with big dreams) have been abandoned by their families or left them because they believe in themselves. Because they listen to their hearts. they never give up. and even if they start looking down, fading or aren’t able to trust life as it goes, they'll always have either music or the friends they need to realize and undertand they can do it. They can do anything, whatever it takes to take a path and live their lives. To open themselves to the world, and to life.
--> Some famous guy once said: to travel is better than to arrive.
And I was like: what???
Because I used to think their is only one path to take, to where we want to be in life. But if you choose that one path, it doesn’t mean you have to abandon all the other ones. I realized that it’s actually what happens along the way that counts. The stumbles, the falls, the friends... the journey. Not the destination. I guess you just kind of trust that the future will work itself out like it’s supposed to. I’m ready to jump. I believe it!
